Tolerance Scale for THC Beverages
Understanding tolerance and responsible usage of THC beverages is key to enjoying these products safely and effectively. THC affects individuals differently based on factors like body weight, metabolism, experience with THC, and individual tolerance levels. For someone new to THC beverages, it’s recommended to start with a low dose, often 2.5 mg to 5 mg of THC per serving (half of one of our cans), and to consume slowly, letting the effects settle in before consuming more (you can always take more, but you can’t take less.) This approach, often referred to as "start low and go slow," allows the consumer to gauge the effects without overwhelming their system. It’s important to remember that the effects of THC beverages can take longer to set in compared to inhalation methods, sometimes up to 30-45 minutes or more. Patience is essential to avoid overconsumption.
We make Flying Cloud beverages, for example, as a bridge for inexperienced cannabis users to try the product in a manner more familiar to their consumption experience, like drinking cocktails or beer. But in our tenure in the market, we’ve found that our products are often enjoyed by seasoned cannabis users, with a wide variety of approaches to using these THC infused beverages.
For regular consumers, understanding personal tolerance levels is equally important. Tolerance can build over time with frequent use, which might lead to the need for higher doses to achieve the same effects. However, taking regular tolerance breaks can help reset the body’s sensitivity to THC, allowing for a more consistent and enjoyable experience. It's also helpful to pay attention to the label, as beverages often include detailed information about THC content and serving sizes. This transparency ensures consumers can make informed decisions about their intake.
Lastly, knowing when and where to enjoy THC beverages is just as critical. Always consume in a safe and comfortable environment, free of responsibilities like driving, operating heavy machinery, or partaking in an exhausting activity. Not only can there be considerable risks to consuming THC when operating a vehicle or other heavy equipment, but it’s also a product that is meant to be enjoyed, which can be challenging to do without the right set or setting.
Pairing THC beverages with social occasions, relaxation time, or creative pursuits can enhance the experience, but it’s important to respect personal limits and those of others around you. Responsible consumption ensures THC beverages remain a fun, positive addition to one’s lifestyle while minimizing any potential risks and avoidable incidents.
When enjoying THC beverages, it’s important to approach dosing with care. Unlike other methods of consumption, the effects of THC-infused beverages can take longer to set in, typically ranging from 30 minutes to 2 hours. Start with a low dose and wait to see how it affects you before consuming more.
1. For THC Newbies (who use THC less than 1-2 times per year):
- Try a low dose for a delightful, light buzz. If using Flying Cloud for your first experience, we recommend half a can!
- When you’re ready to notch it up once, you can go for a full can and coast up to the entry gates of cloud nine.
2. For the Weekend Enthusiasts (who use THC 1-2 times a month):
- Start with one can of Flying Cloud or equivalent 10mg container for a subtle, relaxing buzz.
- Two cans of our beverages will ramp you up to a nice, noticeable buzz.
- As for three cans... well, you're on the express train to cloud nine!
3. For the THC Pros (who use THC 2-3 times a week):
- One can might tickle your taste buds without the buzz; or our favorite as experienced users, pair a can with your favorite consumption method and get the best of both worlds.
- Two cans for a gentle lift.
- Three cans to hit that sweet spot.
- Four cans, and you ARE cloud nine.
Overconsumption can lead to unwanted effects, such as dizziness or anxiety, so pacing yourself ensures a more enjoyable and controlled experience. Always consume responsibly and be mindful of your tolerance and environment. Never consume while operating heavy machinery.
Enjoy responsibly and we’ll see you on Cloud 9
